Seeds are there, fertilizers are arriving, equipment is 92% ready: Alexey Kushnarenko on the readiness of the Minsk region for sowing
There are only a few weeks left before the start of the sowing campaign, and not only the future harvest, but also the food well-being of the whole country depends on how well the farmers work. Today, the Ministry of Regional Executive Committee, under the leadership of Governor Alexei Kushnarenko, analyzed in detail how ready the central region is for spring field work. The focus is on equipment that will go into the field, stocks of seeds and fertilizers, and most importantly, people. After all, they are the ones who will have to pass this crucial exam.

Availability of seeds and fertilizers
As the head of the central region emphasized, all organizational, technical and financial issues related to the sowing campaign have been resolved to date.
— We are fully supplied with seeds. As for mineral fertilizers, 201 thousand tons of active substance are needed. Today, 60% of this demand is already located directly in farms, the rest are supplied according to approved schedules.
How much will we sow?
This year, farms in the Minsk region plan to sow spring grain crops on an area of 73,000 hectares.
— 300 thousand hectares will also be allocated for corn for silage and grain. Another 38,000 hectares will be occupied by sugar beet and 5,300 hectares of potatoes, Alexey Kushnarenko listed.
Техническая база
The agrarians of the Minsk region have ambitious plans, but without reliable equipment they will remain just beautiful figures on paper.

— The farms of the region are provided with the necessary range of equipment. There are 1,700 energy-saturated tractors, tillage and sowing units. The total percentage of their readiness is 92%. At the same time, there is everything you need, including spare parts, in order to reach the 100% availability range.
