Turchin: “There are no problems with harvesting in the Minsk region!”
As for the harvesting campaign, there are no problems with it in the Minsk region. This was reported by the Chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Turchin during a conference call with the President.
Compared to last year, the harvesting in the region is going twice as fast: as of July 18, 2023, 41.8 thousand hectares were harvested, 157.6 thousand tons were threshed. As of the same date in 2024, grain was harvested on an area of 88.4 thousand hectares – this is 21% of the plan, 367.9 thousand tons were threshed. And the yield in 2024 has increased: last year it was 37.7 c/ha, this year – 41.6 c/ha.
If the weather and equipment do not fail, then the loaf of the central region can weigh more than 2 million 300 thousand tons.
— And taking into account rapeseed — 2 million 700 thousand tons, — noted Alexander Turchin.
— If there are 3 million tons in the Minsk region, this will be a heroic feat. We are waiting for the harvest, — the President of the country outlined the tasks.
Expected gross harvest in the Minsk region:
Total grain crops – 2381 thousand tons, including:
excluding corn – 1800 thousand tons;
grain corn – 581 thousand tons.
