Solemn closing ceremony of the II Games of the CIS countries was held in Minsk-Arena

The closing ceremony of the II Games of the CIS countries was held in Minsk-Arena, BelTA informs.

The biggest sporting event of this summer has come to an end. II Games of the CIS countries gathered in Belarus guests and participants from more than 20 countries. The competitions were open, so athletes came to Belarus not only from the Commonwealth countries, but also from Venezuela, Pakistan, Iran, Cuba, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Mongolia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Lebanon, Oman and other states. It is noteworthy that the II Games of the CIS countries were held not only in the capital – the athletes competed in arenas in ten cities of Belarus.

Belarusian athletes performed more than adequately at the Games. Our compatriots brought more than 200 medals of various standards to the national team and became the second in the overall medal standings. Only the Russian team turned out to be stronger. The third were athletes from Uzbekistan.

The closing ceremony of the II Games of the CIS countries was held in Minsk-Arena. The organizers of the event prepared a spectacular spectacle. The guests of the Minsk Arena and those who follow the ceremony on TV and on the Internet were treated to a parade of athletes, a rich concert program and bright stage performances. At the opening, new vocal works of sports themes were performed. In addition, a dance program was prepared for the participants of the competitions and foreign guests.
