Lukashenko and Putin held a telephone conversation

A telephone conversation took place between President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and President of Russia Vladimir Putin. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The heads of state exchanged views on the situation in the region and its development prospects.

They also discussed economic issues and the implementation of the agreements in the economic and security spheres reached in Minsk during the recent official visit of the Russian leader.

During the conversation, the heads of state discussed defense and security issues in general as a separate block.

Another topic on the agenda is joint work and areas of cooperation abroad, outside the Union State.

The presidents of Belarus and Russia also agreed on a schedule of further contacts.

Alexander Lukashenko also congratulated Vladimir Putin on Russia Day.
