Why were four houses in the city center left without water?

On Monday, August 7, four houses in the city center were left without water. The cause of the accident was a collapse of the soil during earthworks to replace the heating main near the house No. 9 on 50 Let Oktyabrya Street by specialists of UM “BESM”. Forced drought came to the apartments of houses No. 9, 11, 13, 15. Fortunately, it did not last long: workers of the Zhodino water utility eliminated the emergency within three hours.

• At 13.15, the water supply to four residential buildings on 50 Let Oktyabrya Street stopped, – said Alexander Akulich, director of the Zhodino water utility. – A few minutes later, our emergency team was already working on the spot, and at 16.20 the water supply was restored. Regulatory documents allocate eight hours to eliminate such accidents, but, of course, we always try to fix problems as soon as possible so that people experience less inconvenience.
